Is Social Security kaput??

Hello:

I ask because a friend of mine is expecting his check in a couple days.  He really needs it.  He's got no gas for his car.  He's got nothing to cook.  His health insurance and food stamps are paid for by medicaid, and rent is due shortly.

So, you know, with Musk going around calling SS a ponzi scheme, one could assume that Social Security is on the chopping block.  Is my friend gonna be homeless??  You know, he'll DIE on the streets.  Does any body care?
