Trump is almost fully responsible for the United States’ improved economy. Obama created a relatively good economy that was full of regulations. Trump was able to remove many of those regulations which resulted in a better economy for the U.S..

In the US, the Congress, not the president, establishes the rules according to which the economy functions. While the president does have certain influence on the process of economical lawmaking and can veto certain propositions, it is much more important the political group with what leaning currently dominates the legislative branch. The executive branch has a related, but a different role.

As such, I believe it is the Republican party that should take the credit for the recent economical achievements, not Donald Trump, whose relation to the party is limited solely to his participation in the 2016 election.
