Guidance in the Bible strikes a balance between the right to protect life or a life in self-defense although Jesus (God's) will may be that Christians suffer persecution.
Luke 22 37-39 dictates that it is sometimes nescesarry that a Christian owns a weapon to defend themselves or others.
In light of this, Christian martyrdom or the necessity of dieng for faith in Jesus is more of an examination of dieng for God, when a matter of faith is forced by a wicked degenerate.
However based on the context of Luke 22 37-39 it seems if someone intends to kill a Christian or another a Christian is completely justified in blowing that person of the face of the Earth.
