In proportion to total population, Judaism and atheists/agnostics are contributing the most. Jews represent 0.2% of the global population but 21.1% of the Nobel prize winners, VS Muslims representing 24.1% of the human population, but only 0.8% of the Nobel prize winners?

What do we have to learn from this?

It is hard for me to say anything about Islam that will not come out as negative, so I will refrain from discussing the details. Allow me to just mention that Islam has been a unique phenomenon in that it has remained virtually unchanged since the Caliphate times, while all other ideologies and religions I am familiar with have experienced wide reformation and liberalisation in order to keep up with times.

Islam actually used to be more liberal than Christianity, back in the 11-th to 15-th century, approximately, and that was when the Middle East thrived, had the best scientists in the world and the highest quality of life. However, Christianity has changed significantly since then, while Islam culturally stagnated, hence now the situation is reverse: the Christian world thrives (no thanks to Christianity itself, but thanks to the reformers who changed its common interpretation), while the Islamic world is falling apart, with the exception of a few oil giants who manage to offset the inefficiencies of their system by the money influx and investment in long-term economical ventures.

The decline of Islamic contribution to Science started with the rise of the Ash'ari school of thought and its most vocal member Abu Hamid al-Ghazali... In his book The Incoherence of the Philosophers, al-Ghazali vigorously attacked philosophy and philosophers — both the Greek philosophers themselves and their followers in the Muslim world (such as al-Farabi and Avicenna). Al-Ghazali was worried that when people become favorably influenced by philosophical arguments, they will also come to trust the philosophers on matters of religion, thus making Muslims less pious.

Sunnis embraced al-Ghazali as the winner of the debate with the Hellenistic rationalists, and opposition to philosophy gradually ossified, even to the extent that independent inquiry became a tainted enterprise, sometimes to the point of criminality... Since then, Arab contributions to science became increasingly sporadic as the anti-rationalism sank in.

The Ash’ari view has endured to this day.

Have you ever been to a country that is 80%-90% christian? I have. Book a cruise down through Haiti sometime. It is so sad, to see them so below the poverty line that they turn to your religion.... you say this like its a good thing which is apalling to me

Don't forget Africa either, the most christian continent in the entire world, is also the continent with the poorest quality of life and economical problems
