So, in the Reformation Discord Server (I've explained what this is in a previous debate "Should Abortion be Criminalized?" I got into an informal debate with a Christian named, "shotgun".
They made bold (not a joke) claims such as (and this is paraphrasing, but not misrepresenting) same-sex intercourse should be a crime, pride parades are degeneracy, and we should lock homosexuals up and execute them. (sound familiar?)
Now, as you may realize, this person is a Christian (diehard even), and their foundations for this are (paraphrasing, again) god made man and woman as interplaying roles and homosexuality is a perverted and dangerous act. Eventually, it rests on the Christian bible (and the virtues it makes).
My first thoughts on this are: There is no actual harm going to the ones who despise homosexuality. It shouldn't be one's business to go into one's personal desires which aren't legally a crime in the U.S. not to mention, it follows in the saying "You may do anything, provided it doesn't cause a problem for anyone else." Obviously, Christians have a problem, but their reasoning is immoral.
