Is morality a social construct? Pretty much. Morality's about telling a good action from a wrong action.

I think morality is a societal concept arising from human nature. It is natural for us (and possibly for all intelligent beings) to categorize the world around us, to streamline the decision making process - and building a system of morals that gives a guidance on what action is "good" and what is "bad" is an essential part of this process. You do not want to think hard consciously every time you open a door to a stranger on whether that is the right action - you want to decide in advance how to classify this action, so you could do or not do it intuitively all the time.

I have always been interested in how a hypothetical society with neither collective nor individual morals would function. I would guess it would look similar to the animal kingdom, where the only compass the beings have is a set of primal urges and needs. After all, for logic to be involved in decision-making at all, it has to be built on top of some assumptions about what is "right" and what is "wrong" - and those assumptions are what morality is. Hence a society with no morality would also be a society with no logic.
