    Not unless they're members of the German Socialist Workers Party.
    Of course nowadays the word Nazism is used to describe many forms of extreme anti-social behaviour.

    Nowadays the word Nazi is just used by hysterical SJW's to refer to anyone they disagree with politically. Same for "white supremacist". Basically the majority of their usage is by these people.

    There are two factions in the "alt-right". The first faction of the alt-right, which is the vast majority, are people that like to wear MAGA hats, make memes to trigger the left, and have fun :) the other faction, the vast vast minority, like to lurk in the shadows and practice Nazism and partake in white nationalism :( The first faction casts the second faction out but the media keep grouping them together and it ends up being a whole mess.

    Is it possible to have a vast minority?

    They are Nazis or a majority of them are. This is due to their fundamental beliefs.

    Not many of them are real Nazi true-believers, not even the Charlottesville event organizer, who was an Obama supporter, a Dem campaign consultant, an environmentalist, and a CNN correspondent who covered Occupy Wall Street.

    Well actually, contrary to milo yiannapoulos' lies, the first faction is basically just part of the normal right. People like milo keep broadening and broedaning the term. While if you listen to some of the founders of the alt-right movement like Richard Spencer, you will  find that they actually believe that white skin is supreme and that other races cannot uphold western civilization, this of course, is vile, but people like milo and Steve bannon continually broaden the term because they want to Be able to state that the alt-right is a legitimate movement. People like you are falling into the alt-right's trap and agreeing, rallying with them, without knowing their actual beliefs, just because you like memes doesn't mean your part of the alt-right.
  • xboostxboost 9 Pts   -
    I believe the first faction I was talking about call themselves the "New Right" (don't quote me on that) trying to distance themselves from the alt-right because how neativley they have been portrayed due to the nazis. Also, Milo has distanced himself from the alt-right on multiple occasions but he keeps getting grouped with them.@JuicyMelonTech ;

    @xboost good argument made!

    I believe that most if not all Alt-right members and White Nationalists are Nazis. A fundamental belief of White Nationalists, is hating Jews. If they have White supremicist beliefs, they most likely have Neo-Nazi beliefs as well.
  • MayCaesarMayCaesar 5966 Pts   -
    "Nazi" is a shortcut for a follower of the ideology of National-Socialism. There are very few people with such views nowadays. Alt-right members and white nationalists economically tend to lean towards a protectionist, but domestically free market system. Their views are very similar to those of the pre-civil war American Confederates qualitatively, although quantitatively they tend to be more tame and less pragmatic at the same time.

    National-socialist views are very popular in many of the post-USSR nations, where the old socialist views that have never died out merged with the nationalism pushed by Putin's administration - but in developed nations, there are very few proponents of such views. Certain groups, such as Le Pen supporters in France, have a lot in common with national-socialists, but there are drastic differences as well, and socially their supremacist views mostly do not include race and tend to focus on nationality instead.

    I wholeheartedly disagree with you. The nazis were socialists, and the vast majority of Americans are as well. I think it's a myth to believe that national socialism is all that different from the ideologies of communist Russia or China. It doesn't take alot of effort to convince the middle class that they're threatened by the individual rights and economic rights of others. It's happening right now. National socialism is no longer a fringe ideology, it's main stream. It has permeated both the right and the left. As far as I'm concerned, anybody who agrees with the idea that the individual is less important than the collective, they are in agreement with the most important aspect of national socialism. Most people in the US agree with that sentiment! The alt-right does not lean toward a domestically free market. Protectionism is the fulcrum for implementing a socialist economy, and all other aspects of society will follow.

    @piloteer ;

    Common socialism (such as the one followed by USSR, Cuba, North Korea, etc.) seeks giving the means of production to the workers. National socialism (such as the one followed by Hitler's Germany, Hirohito's Japan and, to a lesser extent, Mussolini's Italy) seeks giving the means of production to the workers of the supreme nation. The end goal of mainstream socialism is to perform distribution on the global scale in which workers independently of their respective nation (internationalism) become the holders of all the essential assets. The end goal of national socialism is to perform distribution on the global scale in which the supreme nation's workers become the holders of all the essential assets. Economically, the end goal is the same - the workers hold all the assets - but socially, the end goals are very different - all the workers survive and hold the power vs. only the supreme nation's workers survive and hold the power.

    It so happens that in the first world the two defining aspects of national socialism - nationalism and socialism - rarely coincide. For example, in the US people on the left tend to have socialist, but internationalist, views - while people on the right tend to have nationalist, but capitalist, views. National socialists are pretty rare and marginal, and even though certainly even most socialists on the West exhibit *some* nationalist views, they are too tame to qualify for the "national" part in national socialism.

    I agree that the idea that the collective is more important than the individualism is horrible and leads to socialism and nationalism - however, this idea alone, especially if only applied to specific domains, hardly constitutes what can be fully called "national socialism". It is important to classify views probably and to not mix everything that has anything at all in common into one bag, lest out classification becomes obsolete.

    The things that some of humanity mindfully mulls over?

    How to hate, how to spray on the walls of a building with negative graffiti, be part of a protest, some wearing bandanas over their faces so that they can't be identified after a protest is over?

    Those who go to a protest with protective gear on, to not only protest but to engage in violence during a protest?

    Or use a vehicle to allegedly drive through a crowd of protesters with?

    Or a protester who sent packages through the mail to apparently harass and scare those who the package sender had an apparent beef with?

    Or the other protester who's now in jail with a 44 count indictment, and pleaded not guilty.

    The above is what some of humanity mindfully mulls over day in and day out, on how to harass, scare, bully, hurt, maim, and even worse.

    It's amazing how some of humanity wears their hate on their person, and have made themselves infamous at the very doorstep of the rest of society itself.

    It's sad how the freedom of speech gets abused.

    It's sad how the freedom to peacefully protest gets abused.

    It's sad how society itself gets abused, and how it sadly gets to live with the various traggic aftermaths because some abused the rest of society to make their law breaking statements with.

    This is how some of the protesting humanity apparently likes to mindfully mull things over with their individual thought processes?

    (The parents, the sibblings, married couples, the single individuals, basically society as a whole) deserves better, than how some have chosen to treat others with via harm, maiming, bullying, and worse.

    I don't deny that I'm being purposely shallow when I throw all collectivist idealism into one bag. Forgive me, I am a "Randroid". There are a couple of things with your argument that don't jive with me though. Firstly, although I do admit that not all socialist countries are anti-globalists, however I certainly don't think the socialist countries you named were pro-international, especially in the case of Russia and Cuba. Those countries only really traded with other socialist countries that weren't friendly with the west (also, I don't think I would call Italy or Japan socialist countries, but that's neither here nor there). Russia basically has everything it needs for the most part, to make everything in house. They have the oil, the farmlands, and all the basic recourses to have a powerful economic system within the country. Of course, that's not to say they didn't trade with other countries, but those other countries were usually socialists themselves. I'm not sure I would consider that to be internationalism per se.

    The second rub I have with your argument is, I don't think that the socialist sentiments of people on the left, or the right (in the US), have very positive feelings about globalism. During the Obama administration, there were people on both sides of the isle who were calling for economic sanctions to be imposed on China. The collectivist sentiments that we see on the right, are sort of a new thing. Many on the right are moving away from conservatism and embracing protectionism. The right used to call for lowering minimum wage laws to make US labor more appealing internationally, now many are calling for an economic firewall without regard for rising prices, and are not concerned about rising minimum wages. Globalism and internationalism have become nasty words in the US in the past decade. It's become trendy to rage against international trade, even on the left. Now obviously we don't see alot of people on the left going on rants about a "Jewish conspiracy", or how immagrants are taking our jobs, but the socialism and the anti-globalist sentiments can be found among radical leftists. I find it disturbing to see the radical left and radical right have a common enemy now. That enemy is globalism. They can squabble back and fourth about race relations, but who among us can actually say with confidence that national socialism won't become a more mainstream political view in the US? Who's to say that the alt-right won't gain more political traction and some on the left won't just capitulate, like what happened in nazi Germany, where even social democrats, communists and conservatives were embracing the nazi ideal? Or maybe a new kind of national socialism will arise in the US. You know, national socialism without all the racism. Of course this is all conjecture because nobody knows the future, but what I'm saying is not out of the realm of reality!

    On a side note, I'm reading a biography about Alfred Hitchcock, and apparently during WW2, he made some movies that some people found to be a little too shocking. Although Alfred Hitchcock was very anti-nazi, he didn't shy away from exploring the basic ideals that made people become nazis, and then he compared those basic ideals with the ideals of the British and American people. Alot of people didn't like those comparisons because they thought he was trying to humanize their mortal enemies. Even joseph goebbels said they were brilliant pieces of propaganda. But Hitchcock retorted by pointing out that those people who were the most uncomfortable with those movies were probably the ones that found they had alot in common with nazi sentiments. I think some people in this country don't realize how close their ideals are to national socialism. I think those movies Hitchcock made in the early forties should be revisited. Perhaps it will be very shocking for some people to realize where they actually stand!

    No, though they may accept some pieces of the ideology. White Nationalists embrace a homogeneous society/state, which the idea in itself is not bad, just doesn't fit with a place like the United States. The Nazis originally also embraced societies where people of the same race lived together. The Alt-Right together cannot be considered to be "Nazis" because some may not accept or believe in the ideology of Nazism. Collectively, white nationalists and the alt-right are not Nazis, just that some of them may believe in and support Nazism.
