A war with Iran seems very unlikely.
First of all, Iran is not a joke like Iraq; it has one of the strongest military forces in the world, and it is backed by Russia. A war would be worse than Vietnam, by far. And a large fraction of people in Iran are Islamic fanatics, unlike Iraq where most people's views were far more flexible, and they will fight to the death, rather than surrender en masse.
Then, the Iranian leaders themselves do not want a war. They have enjoyed ruling their totalitarian kingdom for 40 years now, and they prefer to exert their influence in the region in indirect means, such as funding various rebels and political factions. They have nothing to gain from waging war with Israel or the US, despite the countless threats they throw at us.

Incidents like this happen all the time, as the region is very volatile. It is very rare that they lead to anything bigger than a short minor diplomatic crisis.
