5G Data War Between US & China?

Hi!
I just heard a piece of news that now the US and China would fight to capture data of the entire world. Seriously? Now the world has only two choices either they will have to pick China to control their data with 5G technology or it would be the United States. I am just trying to know what these powerful countries will do with our data and how they are going to control it. There are also some discussion about the use of chips that will be installed in the human body and we wouldn't need debit cards and ID cards in future. Via chip only, everything will be recognized.
Do you think it would only for the benefit of mankind or is it a power game?
