It has been put to me that I have a penchant for berating Churches for being bigoted.
I hear the familiar excuse...."oh well, just because my religion hates gays it doesn't mean I (or my particular church) hates gays, no sirree"
But then, isn't there such a thing as "guilt by association"?
For example, if I tell you that I belong to the Ku Klux Clan (and I certainly don't), "but hey, I don't go along with all that racist stuff, I just enjoy the camaraderie and walking down the street in a white gown holding a flaming cross."
.........anyone would have the right to look at me more than a little bit sideways.
So, if someone were to say, "I'm a Christian, but hey, I don't go in for any of that gay, abortion, euthanasia, unwed mother bashing stuff"
.....Do we not still have a right to label such a person as a gay, abortion, euthanasia, unwed mother basher since that person subscribes to a movement that openly promotes such views?
