I was listening (Yes, I have been known to listen) to a news item today which mentioned that the government will not subsidise health funds for alternative treatments.
Next thing you know, this naturopath comes onto the program protesting that naturopathy has been around for hundreds of years and has been proven to work.
I thought, (Yes, Sometimes I think) "you are lying cow".
There is, of course, no proof whatsoever of naturopathy (or any other quackery such as chiropractic and acupuncture) working and it is no wonder the government is not prepared to fork out public money for such stu-pidity.
Religious preachers and natural therapists have been in the business of conning people since time immemorial and what's more they ply their trade on those who are naive, gullible, weak, and vulnerable.
So, isn't it time for governments stop religious organisations being exempt from paying taxes?
