No, being gay is neither a disease, nor defect that would entail a necessary "cure". There have been many attempts in recorded history of people supposedly "curing" homosexuality but no studies till date support that any of these practiced cures had any effects on the sexual orientation of a homosexual person. We have in fact studied the connection between the anterior commissure enlargement in homosexual men aligning with that of females in comparison to men suggesting that being gay is due to biological predispositions, according to the NLM, and that we can in fact observe homosexuality not only in the human species but across thousands of other animals' species. This would not only continue to support the notion that being gay is natural but its neither a choice nor something that poses a threat to the development and progression of human society.
