The COVID crises seems now to be well into recession. Lock-downs have been eased as has social distancing and mask wearing. We are no longer fearful of catching the deadly virus and, if we do, the symptoms will be relatively mild.
Most of us have now been vaccinated and can go back to living life as normal. However, there are still those who haven't been vaccinated simply because they choose not to. It would be fair and reasonable to label these people as stubborn, ignorant, arrogant, belligerent nit-wits since they have deliberately gone against conventional wisdom and have been a danger, not only to their own health but also to the health of others.
COVID has not gone away though and, as predicted, there will be mutant strains that will make the rounds. According to WHO, there is about to be a worldwide wave of a new strain of COVID but this time, caring, intelligent, socially responsible people will be okay. We can expect fatalities to come from the nit-witted minority who aren't vaccinated.
So, to the question......are we seeing natural selection at work in weeding out those who are on the thoughtless side of humanity and making the gene pool better for future generations who will not have to put up with so many village id-iots?
