Can it be possible for humans to evolve into extinction?

Debate Information

Mother nature would happily applaud this idea but is it possible?.

Based off annual reports in medical research that date back before some of us were born show a major rise in humans born with a mental disability. For example, in 2000 one out of every one hundred and fifty humans were born with this disorder. in 201 one in every one hundred and twenty five were born with it. In 2008 one out of eighty eight. 2014 one out of every 59. Today one out of every 44 humans born will live with autism disorder. No studies have been shown to pin point the reason for such development in humans which is increasing rapidly. There are factors in todays world that can lead one to believe this change comes from things like Tylenol during pregnancy, unprofessional or accidents from the hospital during labor, human diet, black magic, exposure to chemicals during pregnancy and so forth. As solid as these reasons might be it is still unknown.

And then theres my question. Can humans evolve into extinction?. Can humans genetically carry their experiences of loss of life from loved ones out of hatred for causes such as pharmaceutical companies, air pollution, deforestation, endangering animals, and many other reasons not listed. If a human being living a normal life suddenly developed into a serial killer and have the potential to have an offspring carrying this trait. Can it be possible for humans to do the same out of concern for mother nature?. For example, activists, scientists, hippies, vegans, and individuals who loose a loved one from natural causes such as cancer, tumors, alzheimers, war, or even as simple as watching it on television. The fear and hatred for the deaths of loved ones from humans and technology take a huge impact on the brain and in whole to a human. Can these occurrences have anything to do with genetic change in newborns developing a type of evolution that could send humans down to the bottom of the food chain and halt its evolutionarily destruction of the planet by developing autism?. A world of autistic humans means no harm to the planet or to themselves. Can this be possible?

The neanderthals for example went extinct for reasons nobody can truely explain. Could it be possible that Neanderthals developed some kind of mental disability pretty much like autism and died off by wandering around as prey for animals or running off of cliffs. Who knows but i wanted to ask what people think about autism being put in place to halt human destruction as a evolutionary trait as mother nature would put it to save the planet.

This seems extremely unlikely to me. Persistent biological systems are extremely robust and have a lot of generally redundant mechanisms that provide a sort of a shield from individual parts of the system taking the wrong evolutionary path. If a species could easily go extinct due to a population-wide genetic malfunction, then the Earth would likely becone barren by now.

Can humans create a technology that will cause something like this to happen? This is a little more likely - however, societies have similar robustness mechanisms as biological organisms, and it is very hard for us to wipe ourselves out even if we were to set out to purposefully do that.

My prediction is, humanity will thrive for as long as it exists, then transition into something different (and better), and then everything will change and modern discussions of this topic will become obsolete.

I agree with you MC. Humans wiping themselves out is far fetched and nearly impossible as humans will most likely find new ways to protect life one of them being gtfo of earth. It would never achieve full annihilation of a species (it, being genetic mutation) but most likely thin the heard. There are some examples of species completely wiped out the face of the earth without no real explanation (according to scientists).

The more plausible cause for near human extinction I think would come from a meteor carrying deadly bacteria falling onto earth or samples from the moon or outerspace brought back to earth carrying a deadly virus. Scientists excavating the arctic and uncovering fossil age bacteria that could be lethal to humans.

I think the nature of human genomics, microbiology, and genetics in the world of science is truely open for anyone dedicated to explore. The flexibility in the field to the most focused can possibly be able to disrupt the world. North Korea for example wakes up each day to pile up new ideas on how to survive and/or rule the world (according to them). Why focus on their currency impoasible to compete in the world when they can put all their effort into genetic mutation and produce a lethal answer to their problems and having the only vaccine. It is kind of a tf moment here but these are speculations. There was a post on this site asking what if Joe Biden was black. So I dont think this post is too bad.
