The UN is not perfect, but it is an essential organization that plays a vital role in the world.

If you do some research, you will find the UN has helped:

• Reduce the number of people living in extreme poverty by more than half since 1990.
• Eradicate smallpox and polio, and is close to eradicating malaria.
• Improve child health and mortality rates around the world.
• Promote gender equality and women's rights.
• Protect the environment and promote sustainable development.
