Yes, the Democrats are now the party of not only the rich, but the upper levels of the unelected and corrupt US government administrations.      Of course, no party can survive without base support among the masses, so the Democrats pretend to be the governments who represents the poor, the "oppressed", and the welfare dependent.   It also includes big business, big unions, and anyone not wearing a uniform who depends upon the taxpayer dime for their financing, or their jobs.   The problem for the Dems is that these demographics are often at odds with each other.       Take for example the present situation in Israel.          One faction within the Dems has traditionally always supported Israel, but they are now opposed by their loonv left contingent who claim that everybody should be safe from abuse, harassment, and intimidation, unless they are Jews.    As Claudine Gay said before Congress, It is all a matter of "context."

Yes it does seem that the logical outcome for the dems approach to politics will be implosion due to conflicting interests from within. Will it be in time to safe our nation? Will repubs handle it right if it does happen? Time will tell.
