Seeing politicians lie about Biden's cognitive abilities is worse.  Trump demanding that NATO pay their fair share and not be dependent on the US is something that should be pushed.  Trump's wording was not good, but the notion that NATO countries should pay their fair share is appropriate.  Those saying Biden is 'sharp' and 'on top of things' are neither of those.  They are obviously lying and lying is bad, @Jack, even when Democrats do it.

Jack,  you forget where I've been.  When Castro came to power in Cuba, Che Guevara kicked rich people out of their homes, and then claimed them as his own.  Communists being hypocritical has always been a thing.  You don't think that communist party officials live better than everybody else, and that the rules apply to them do you?  Even the youngest child in Cuba knows that some animals are more equal than others (that was an Animal Farm reference for you).

Anyone with two brain cells to rub together can understand that Donald Trump was speaking sarcastically and metaphorically.      Unfortunately, jack does not have more than one brain cell.      Trump is right again.   With all of the USA's cascading social problems, why should US taxpayers subsidise the defense of rich nations too cheap to pay for their own defense?       My own country, Australia, tacit defense position has always been to "fight to the last American."      The trick has always been to give the yanks just enough support in their overseas wars to pretend that Australia is a reliable ally.     Then, if wen get into trouble again like we did in 1942, the yanks will come and save our arses again.   

The problem is, that Australia's defenses are a joke.      Our air force roughly equates to the numbers of aircraft on one US aircraft carrier.     Our "army" is basically a single infantry division.     An infantry division is basically worthless in open county where armoured warfare is king.     Australia is mostly open arid or semi arid country.     Our army was so woefully equipped that in Gulf War 1, Australia could not contribute anything to coalition forces because we were not equipped for a modern open country battlefield.     All our "army" could have done in tht war was to guard the sheethouses at the allied HQ.  .    Our latest bout of ally unreliability came only recently, when our newly elected socialist Labor government refused a request from the Biden administration to send a warship to join the international effort to contain Yemani attacks upon international shipping.    The socialist government claimed that our ships were not suitable for the job, which is an out and out, lie.   The RAN has only just taken delivery of three AEGIS equipped Air Warfare destroyers which would have been perfect for the job.

The real reason, of course, is the same one which is destroying the western world, identity politics.      Australia has imported around 1 million near useless Muslims into out country who are as expected, a complete pain in the arse.     But for the Labor socialists, Muslims are an important electorate because the Muslim areas of capital cities is now part of the Labor heartland.       And since Muslims consider that the Houthis are fighting for Israel, then helping the yanks by living up to our treaty requirements under AUKUS would upset Labor's Muslim electors.  

To Donald Trump, if you are reading this?    Oppose Australia's bid to purchase nuclear powered submarines.      Our unions will just insist that they be all made in Australia, and they will just become submersible pork barrels.     In addition, with so many Chinese now in Australia, it will be child's play for the red Chinese government to insert their agents into Australia's nuclear submarine building program, with the result that your nuclear technology will be compromised.

To give another perspective, Australia's defense budget last year was AUS $44 billion, which equates with the spending Australia does on aboriginal welfare.     It has been estimated that around one third of Australians claiming aboriginal ancestry in order to get their fingers in the till of aboriginal welfare, are frauds.  .       Our defense budget also equates to the money that Australians spend on alcohol, cigarettes, gambling, and their pets.     We are not serious about our own defense, so save your money and protect your technology by not supporting an unreliable ally.    As a matter of fact, you might give Australia a well needed kick up the arse by inviting China to invade us.   We deserve it.

LOL that's definitely a foot in the mouth moment for trump. Nothing unique about that. Obviously though he's still ticked about our contributions to nato being too high while they pay next to nothing relatively speaking. His petulance seems to be his achilles heel. 

On communism? State ownership was a technicality carried over from marxism. Marx used terms like socialism and marxism interchangeably indicating the main goal is heavy handed market regulations/taxation to the point if the state didn't own it; it might as well own it given it's involvement.

1. Putin is not a communist. He laments the fall of the Soviet Union, but believes that market economies are superior to centrally planned economies (even if his actions often do not match his words).

2. Sanders is a communist, as he has said many times in the past. He even travelled to the Soviet Union not long before its collapse - and returned quite a bit quieter, with some of his communist passion gone after witnessing the consequences of it first-hand. He has never given up on communism as the ideal.

3. Trump has not "encouraged Putin to attack Europe". Specific attitude towards funding of the NATO does not imply such encouragement.

All three individuals in question have a TON of flaws, but you, jack, make some of the weakest arguments against them, exposing your profound ignorance and bias. Have you missed, for example, the fact that communism in Russia was dismantled 33 years ago? Why make strong claims about the ruler of that country when you do not even know what system he oversees?

For the record, I think very low of Putin. He is far worse than either of the other two individuals in question (that I believe are also terrible as far as their politics goes). But that does not imply that it is okay for me to accuse him of anything I want. Putin, for example, does not eat children for breakfast (I think). He is not a communist. He is not Hitler. He is not Trump's puppet master. He does not want a nuclear war with the US. Criticize people, even terrible ones, for demonstrably true flaws and actions, not for figments of your imagination.

I thought DeSantis and Ramaswamy were very decent candidates (both have issues, for sure). But there is something in American politics that causes people to think that only the most popular candidate has a reasonable shot at winning, so voting for anyone else is wasting a vote. So since everyone expected Trump to win the Republican primary again, they just voted for him.

This is how we keep getting these dinosaurs. As much as I disliked Obama, he, at least, looked like a modern guy. These two have been stuck in the 70-s, both mentally and physically.

One of Trump's accomplishments was promoting educational freedom for Black children chained to bad public schools by Democrats.  Obama/Biden had tried to end the only federal voucher program in DC.  Fortunately, Republicans fought for those Black children and managed to stop this racist act.  Trump pushed the voucher agenda across America and during his tenure, and many new voucher programs began.  When Biden became president he again attempted to push Black children out of good private schools and re-enslave them to bad public schools in DC.  Again, the Republicans fought for educational freedom for Black kids and stopped Biden from chaining Black children to bad public schools.

Democrats downplay the significance of this issue, but to a Black parent it is the racial issue.  85% of Black parents support school vouchers.  We all know how it benefits teacher unions to keep Black children chained to bad public schools, and how it helps Democrat politicians who get lots of money from teacher's unions, but how does it help that Black child to keep her trapped in a bad public school?  Well @Jack, @Dreamer, @Openminded, @Barnardot, what's your answer?

You guys get yourselves into trouble over words..  I dunno why.  The cool thing about English, is it's specificity..  In other words, words mean what they say..

Fact is, Sanders is a Democratic Socialist.  That AIN'T communism..  It ain't close.  I would inform you about his politics, but I ain't gonna waste my breath..   Can't have a discussion with somebody who believes the sky is orange, and won't be convinced otherwise.
