Agreed. The opposition has exhausted their extensive objections and there's no sane reason to allow Hamas and other terrorist groups to pick off Israeli citizens at will. Hamas and the people of Gaza support every terrorist attack on Israeli women and children openly. It's going to get messy before it gets better but at least it will finally improve.

In WW2, the allies did not stop when they got to the borders of Germany and Japan, nothing less than  unconditional surrender was acceptable'    We, the allies, were gong to hold th9se enemy politicians and military men who were responsible for a war which killed 50 ,million people to account.     If that meant that thousands more "innocent" German and Japanese civilian people would get killed or maimed, then that was too bad.    It some spoiled brats within western societies can not equate what we did to our sworn enemies, to what the Israelis are dong to their sworn enemies.    The miserable performance of the Arab jihadis compared to the sheer guts and determination of the Israelis is there is there for all to see.        Intelligent people fight their wars intelligently.   Religious fanatics just parade around in their masks looking tough but they melt away like chocolate soldiers when the bullets start to fly.

Australia is part of the commonwealth .......
 Commonwealth realm is a sovereign state that has Charles III as its monarch and ceremonial head of state. 

At least Ireland is and remains a neutral state surely you're not making a case for Australia having a decent military when it's totally reliant on the US for defence.
