Maybe a break from politics, for the people interested.
Rolling Stone gives the first prize Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On", and second place to the Beach Boys' "Pet Sounds", along with many other very famous releases following behind (i.e. Abbey Road makes fifth, Thriller makes twelfth, Born to Run makes 21st, Sgt. Peppers makes 24th, etc.) I can't say I agree with the list fully, but I acknowledge the fact that they were mostly ranked by global impact rather than pure musical genius, and it's impossible to find the best.
I'd love some opinions.
