so...you believe we should find and contact aliens just to eradicate them?  and please leave the constitution out of the answer. @John_C_87

just read the entire debate; and there is no confusion.

Which is why several others keep pointing it out.

No, I’m not saying we should search for life to eradicate that is an alien from Hollywood movies. Due to lack of evidence of local alien humanoid life in our solar system, and the scientific evidence of human killing viruses and bacteria on earth. We are likely to find the reason why there are no signs of other types of humans in the universe before we find them hiding in the Universe.

Argument Topic: Discovering aliens could contribute significantly to humanity’s scientific progress

We could discover new technologies for space travel and communication, new minerals and types of matter, new biologies that have evolved with different advantages than ours, new cultures and means of creating civilization, and so much more.

Many of the brightest scientists, inventors, and artists in history traveled far to gain experience. Leonardo da Vinci traveled to Florence Italy for an apprenticeship with skilled painters. Albert Einstein traveled to places like Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. We could expect greater evolution if we’re exposed to even greater types of travel and experience.

Okay so Da Vinci traveled a 100 miles to Florence. Who ever the heck she wa any way. And it would have been an or deal. But we’re looking at travelling a million light years to find life on the nearest likely planet and what if when the space travellers got there in a million years time. Because you can’t travel faster than the speed of light even if you could transmogrify your self.  So what happens if there are no aliens there. So you move on to the next possible planet which might be a few million light years further on.

And then your got to come back again with all the knowledge you learned.

I don’t know about you but I don’t think any body else is going to buggerize a round for that lenth of time just to see if there’s any body else is out there.

Sure if a bunch of dum aliens wants to spend all that time an resauces coming here then fine.

But I reckon that that is just not going to happen any way.
