@piloteer Exactly, I could not have worded that better. "Nihilism" is just a label we use to call those people. The definition of nihilism is the non-nihilists' observations of the nihilists. Nihilists do not actually say that nothing can be known, they claim nothing. But, as outsiders, we can claim that nihilism is the view that nothing can be known and that is what the definition of nihilism is.
Not to mention he got to make 2 arguments... Okay I will stop now. It is just infuriating that this person will get to win just because he posted irrelevant information.
My opponent had way more evidence than me, all of which is pretty irrelevant. The links that he provided are only relevant if and only if he is able to prove that a baby is always a human being inside a mother's womb. A "person" is defined as a "living human". That is true but where is your evidence that a baby is a living human? How is "human" defined? The burden of proof lied on my opponent to prove that abortion is false, and he was not able to present any relevant evidence. I would like everyone who is going to vote to consider this fact.
"The four characteristics of life are present at fertilization: Growth, reproduction, metabolism, and response to stimuli."
Murder is, as you said, manslaughter. You did not prove that the baby is a person yet, you only proved that it is alive. By your reasoning, stepping on an ant is murder.
We know that whatever makes us a person, has to be in our brain. So we can be completely sure that before the brain develops in a baby, it is not a person yet. It is not conscious. The exact time to when the baby develops consciousness and is considered a person is irrelevant to this debate. I am just trying to prove that abortion is not murder on the early stages of development.
All of your other arguments are invalid because you were not able to prove that a baby is a person.
@sear I seriously cannot connect any of what you say to the current argument. If you would simplfy your holy.. prose(?) style, I would appreciate that.
