It is good to pray if it helps you emotionally; I absolutely have nothing against that. My point, however, is that prayer does not change anything for those you have wronged. Hypothetically, had you wronged me in some way, while I would not expect you to make up for it, I would really prefer it if you did something nice for me, as opposed to just prayed in your room.
I take responsibility for everything I do and, when it is warranted, make amends to others or to myself. When I feel utterly terrible about myself and guilty, I could sit down and reflect on things I did, maybe meditate some... But until I have made up for my mistake and learned something from it, I do not feel that my mistake has been washed out of my personal history in any way.

I would not want everyone to agree with me; life would be boring then. Still, I simply cannot see prayer and repentance as a virtue; they could be helpful psychological tools, but they in themselves do absolutely nothing for those one has failed/wronged. I make amends instead, as they actually benefit victims of my misdoings, rather than just me.
Try this experiment: buy a bunch of small toys, like dinosaurs on Amazon (you can get a large set of ~50 tiny dinosaurs for around 10 bucks). Then go outside and just give them to strangers, one toy per stranger. See how you feel, compared to when you just pray in a small room alone.
This might not be for you, but for myself personally I find that doing good things, however small, for others always makes me feel much better, than just contemplating on my mistakes on my own - and I make the world a brighter place in the process.

Are you Christian enough to be a Gnostic Christian and actually do as Jesus bid you do?
Some say that the only good Christian is a Gnostic Christian. Here is what we do to earn that correct label.
Here is the real way to salvation that Jesus taught.
Matthew 6:22 The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Allan Watts explain those quotes in detail.
Joseph Campbell shows the same esoteric ecumenist idea in this link.
The bible just plainly says to put away the things of children. The supernatural and literal reading of myths.

On Jesus dying for you.
It takes quite an ego to think a god would actually die for you, after condemning you unjustly in the first place.
You have swallowed a lie and don’t care how evil you make Jesus to keep your feel good get out of hell free card.
It is a lie, first and foremost because, like it or not, having another innocent person suffer or die for the wrongs you have done, --- so that you might escape responsibility for having done them, --- is immoral. To abdicate your personal responsibility for your actions or use a scapegoat is immoral.
You also have to ignore what Jesus, as a Jewish Rabbi, would have taught his people.
Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Deuteronomy 24:16 (ESV) "Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin.
Psa 49;7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
There is no way that you would teach your children to use a scapegoat to escape their just punishments and here you are doing just that.
Jesus is just a smidge less immoral than his demiurge genocidal father, and here you are trying to put him as low in moral fibre as Yahweh.

14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” John 10:11-18
3) You cite the Levitical Law in the Covenant of Law that teaches we're all responsible for our own sin. The Covenant of Law was fulfilled by Messiah as He established the Covenant of Grace (Romans 10:4). From the beginning of Creation, mankind has always found righteousness (a right standing) with God the Father by grace through faith. It is the same in the Covenant of Grace, man's sin is forgiven ONLY by trusting in the blood of Jesus Christ as payment for that sin...when mankind trusts in Messiah for the forgiveness of sin, they receive the "imputation" of God's righteousness, the righteousness of Jesus Christ, over their life and thereby they find redemption, forgiveness, acceptance, peace with God.
"For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes." Romans 10:4 (NASB)
21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 3:36 (NASB)

"Why do you find it necessary to speak evil against the God that I love? Can't you express your repulsion to God's authority with at least a modicum of civility?"
Tell us why you love a genocidal and infanticidal god please.
I do use a modicum of civility but would you be civil if you were trying to talk the S S into rejecting their genocidal god Hitler?
You do not seem respectful to your own god.
Jesus said he came to serve and not be served, and here you are ignoring his wishes for your own and making yourself servant against Jesus' own wishes.

Let's discuss how god hardened Pharaoh's soft heart and made him refuse to let the people go. Let's talk of punishing the children for what their parents did.
Those show god ignoring the free will Christians always say god gave us, as well as his murdering innocent children.
The stories never happened and are myths, but Christians see god's evil and call it good, while intelligent moral readers will see the immorality in Yahweh and call it evil.
There is no point in derailing the O.P.
If you wish to change the subject, and actually debate it, start an O.P. and I am there for a discussion on morals and not on if the story is true or not.
I can debate from your literal view.
